Учитывая важную биологическую роль селена, в том числе в профилактике сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний, а также его распространённый дефицит в почвах, актуальной является оценка обеспеченности этим элементом населения Крымского региона.</p></sec><sec><title>Материалы и методы</title><p>Материалы и методы. С этой целью у 46 жителей г. Симферополя 18–20 лет обоего пола флуориметрическим методом было определено содержание селена в волосах, которое характеризует долговременное поступление этого элемента в организм человека из всех возможных источников. Для оценки наиболее вероятных источников поступления его содержание определяли в пищевых продуктах и питьевой воде на территории г. Симферополя и прилегающих к нему посёлков.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. Содержание селена в волосах колебалось в пределах от 210 до 309 мкг/кг, что меньше нижней границы нормы на 12–40% и позволяет констатировать дефицит в обеспеченности этим элементом у городских жителей в Крымском регионе. Результаты определения содержания селена в пищевых продуктах и питьевой воде позволяют заключить, что основную роль в формировании выявленного дефицита играет низкое содержание селена в пищевых продуктах, изготовленных из зерновых культур, и в меньшей степени – в воде. Однако эта информация не позволяет составить представление о селеновом статусе региона в целом, поскольку продукция, являющаяся основным источником селена в рационе питания жителей Крыма, в значительной степени поставляется из других регионов Российской Федерации.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение. Низкая обеспеченность селеном жителей Крымского региона в сочетании с имеющимися в литературе данными о положительной и тесной связи гипоселенозов с качеством здоровья требует расширенного мониторинга содержания селена в почвах и растениеводческой продукции на территории Крымского полуострова.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Introduction</title><p>Introduction. Considering the essential biological role of selenium, including its role in preventing cardiovascular diseases and its widespread deficit in soils, assessing selenium status for Crimean region inhabitants is an actual task.</p></sec><sec><title>Material and methods</title><p>Material and methods. Determination of selenium content in hair as index the of long-term element’s intake into the human body by all pathways were determined by the fluorometric method in 46 inhabitants (18–20 years old) from city Simferopol. Additionally, the selenium was determined in water and food products in Simferopol and nearby residential territories.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. Selenium content in most residents’ hair varied from 210 to 309 mсg/kg and 12–40% less than the normal range’s lower limit. These results show the selenium deficiency in urban residents from the Crimean region, mainly due to the low content of this element in cereal products and, to a less degree, – in water. However, most food products, which are the primary source of selenium in Crimean inhabitants’ diet, are delivered from other Russian regions. So it’s possible to assess the selenium supply of inhabitants, but it is not possible to make a total conclusion about the selenium status of the region.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion.
